Vicki Sanchez is a Southern California based singer-songwriter with roots in classic rock and a deep love for heartfelt, story-driven music. Raised on the sounds of The Beatles, Elvis, Marvin Gaye, and Janis Joplin, she grew up singing along to every song on the radio and dreaming of playing guitar. Her first formal lessons came through a 6 week summer program after 6th grade — the only structured training she ever received.

Vicki wrote her first song at 23, after the loss of her brother, but it wasn’t until her 40’s that she truly reconnected with songwriting. A bold, young guitar teacher challenged her to go home and write, and the result was a creative breakthrough. Soon after, one of her originals, Blood on the Moon, was featured in the closing credits of the cult horror film Seance.

A spontaneous sing-along at a business event led to the formation of her band, The Cougarachis. What started as a one-time performance turned into years of shows across Southern California, including The Viper Room, The House of Blues, Molly Malone’s, The Whisky a Go Go, and shows for The Canyon Club, where they opened for legendary acts like Canned Heat, Iron Butterfly, The Shadows of Knight, and The Fab 4.

After the passing of two beloved bandmates, Vicki is now stepping into a new chapter. For the first time, she’s performing solo — honoring the music, memories, and moments that brought her here and in the process of forming a new band.
